"I am writing the story that will never end in my heart."

[While not denying the importance of relationships, some people find difficulty in relating to others. They may be afraid of community and intimacy, perhaps due to past experiences of rejection and abandonment. Sometimes we eagerly embrace people and open ourselves in a vulnerable way, but experience pain rather than nurture in the process. We may then become disillusioned and more protective for fear of being hurt again.
A fear of relationship could also result from disappointment with those we have trusted who did not quite live up to our expectations. Perhaps we expect too much from some people, wanting succour and support beyond what they are willing to offer. Sometimes our needs may be overwelming and our idea of relationship soffocating.
Superficial relationships further undermine our efforts bo build meaningful ties. If we have to engage in conversations that are inconsequential or respond to questions that hint of an interview session, social interaction becomes an ordeal rather than a pleasure. Conversations turn cumbersome, and remarks and comments are needed to break an uncomfortable silent. There may be conversation but minimal communion.]
